| SAI Awarded Streets Run Flood Protection Project with the Pennsylvania Department of General Services | | July 11, 2008, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania -- The Pennsylvania Department of General Services (DGS) has awarded SAI the design of a flood protection control project along Streets Run in the Hays Section of the City of Pittsburgh, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania. This project is necessary to address flooding along Streets Run by replacing the deteriorating concrete and/or masonry retaining walls that currently line the existing channel. |
| SAI Awarded Construction Inspection and Documentation Contract for SR 0022-B10 with PennDOT District 12-0 | | July 11, 2008, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania -- The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) Engineering District 12-0 has awarded SAI a contract for construction inspection and documentation services of the reconstruction of approximately 10,476 linear feet of an existing two and three lane roadway to four 12-foot lanes in Westmoreland County, PA. Under this contract SAI will keep records and document the construction work, prepare current and final estimates for payment to the construction contractor; assist the Department in obtaining compliance with contract plans and specifications, labor standards, safety and accident prevention, and equal opportunity provisions of the contract; and other duties as needed. |

The contract includes preliminary and final engineering as well as services during construction for the structure that carries State Route 2023 over Sandy Lick Creek. |
| SAI Awarded Design Contract for the Replacement of the Clymer Borough Bridges in Indiana County, Pennsylvania | | April 10, 2008, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania -- The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) Engineering District 10-0 has awarded SAI the final design contract for the replacement of two bridges carrying State Route 403 over Two Lick Creek and Dixon Run in Clymer Borough, Indiana County, PA. SAI has previously performed preliminary engineering for both of these structures under an established open-end agreement with the District. |
| SAI is Part of the Winning HNTB Corporation Team for the Reconstruction of PA Route 283 in Dauphin County, Pennsylvania | | April 10, 2008, Harrisburg, Pennsylvania -- The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) Engineering District 8-0 has awarded HNTB Corporation the design contract for the reconstruction of State Route 283 from just east of the interchange with I-283/PA Turnpike to the State Route 283 structure over Colebrook Road (SR 3041)the project includes the reconstruction of the PA 283/I-283/PA Turnpike interchange in Dauphin County, PA. A major subconsultant, SAI will provide structural design services for the rehabilitation/replacement of nine bridges carrying State Route 283 and finite element analysis/structural design support services for the 283/I-283/PA Turnpike interchange. |

| SAI Announces New Executive Vice President and Award Recipient | January 03, 2008, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania -- SAI Consulting Engineers, Inc. is pleased to announce the promotion of James J. Lombardi, P.E. from Vice President Construction Services to Executive Vice President in their Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, office.
For over 26 years, Mr. Lombardi, who is a registered Professional Engineer in Pennsylvania and Florida, has been an integral part of SAI and responsible for the growth and overall success of their Construction Services Group. He began his career as a design engineer in 1972 with the New Jersey Department of Transportation. In 1973 he joined the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation, Engineering District 11-0 as a civil engineer in their Construction Unit; he has also worked for the Allegheny County Department of Engineering and Construction.
A graduate of the University of Pittsburgh School of Engineering, Mr. Lombardi was recently selected to receive the Civil Engineering Departments Distinguished Alumni Award. For over 40 years, the University of Pittsburgh has honored the outstanding achievements of its graduates with this award; Mr. Lombardi is one of the few distinguished professionals in the civil engineering industry to have received this prestigious honor.
